When I was at Royal College Of Art in London (1996 – 2003) I completed a PhD ‘By Thesis’ entitled – Children’s Jewellery In Europe: Traditions And Contemporaneity.
As I did my PhD a gazillion years ago – the final copies had to be handed in in a physical printed copy. One copy went to the Royal College Of Art archives and one copy to the British Library.
…AND THEN pdf copies were also handed in…on CD! In fact it’s hard to believe that pdf’s were relatively new when I completed my thesis and ‘searchable’ pdf’s where only just invented!
So the images in this post showcase the ‘jewel cover’ design of my CD submission.
I’m not even sure I have a working CD player any more to view this on ha ha – of course I have the pdf’s on my laptop!
The image is a close up of the Christ Child adorned in a protective coral necklace – taken from the portrait ‘Madonna Of Humility’, c.1379 – 1451, by Giovanni Badile (fig 101 of my PhD thesis) – that I talked about in my previous post.
